The Shelter provides temporary (4 to 6 weeks) emergency accommodation for 22 abused women and their children at any given time.

Women

  • While at the shelter the women and their children receive counselling.
  • They attend weekly house meetings and group sessions.
  • The organisation also offers support services (life skills development and referrals) to women survivors of violence wherever possible.

Children
Services offered to the children are given by the child-care worker and child counsellor.

  • The child-care worker provides educational and play activities for the children. Recreational opportunities are also offered to the children, including taking them to the Zoo, Theatre, Movies, Library etc.

The child counsellor provides emotional support to the children who have witnessed or have been victims of domestic violence. This is done through counselling. Group work is also offered to these children to help them share their home experiences and to develop their own coping mechanisms.

Anyone wanting to donate items to the organisation - books, videos, DVDs, CDs toys, clothes, or art materials please contact Nisaa. links to Contact Nisaa.
It would be very much appreciated.

He should always be sure
that you want him, as much
as he wants you!

He should ask you first.
And respect your decision.
